In viewing the Why-Texas web site, I noticed that the competition date has changed to April 28, 2008. Our students will be taking TAKS testing that week and will be on an adjusted schedule. They will be unable to compete until the following week. Is there any way that the date can be changed to the following week May 5? All 6th, 7th and 8th grade students in Texas public schools will be testing that week.

WISD 8th graders will get an opportunity to participate in a pilot program offered by the Texas Workforce Commission and Numdeon, Inc. In this pilot project the teachers that participate will be entitled to a stipend to help in the development of Whyville as a tool in the classroom.
